“The Washington County Sheriff’s document makes it clear that despite Josh’s chilling confessions the Duggars waited at least 16 months before contacting authorities about the molestations, even though the behavior was continuing and growing worse,” wrote In Touch Weekly Magazine, which uncovered the document using the Freedom of Information Act, and published it on Wednesday.
According to the document, Josh Duggar at the ages of 14 and 15 committed seven acts of sexual molestation against his five different victims. His parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, risked up to six years in prison by sitting on the evidence, in the form of Josh’s own repeated confessions, of their son’s sickening crimes for more than a year — potentially endangering other young girls who may come in contact with Josh.
The younger Duggar told his parents on at least three separate occasions that he had sexually assaulted underage girls, including his own five-year-old sister, but the 19 Kids and Counting family leaders kept the information to themselves, according to the In Touch report.
