Social Media Helps Burger King Baby Find Birth Mom

A woman abandoned her newborn in a Pennsylvania Burger King.  Nearly 30 years later, Katheryn Deprill found her birth mother just three weeks after blasting it all over social media.  Katheryn met her biological mother for the first time in 27 years at an attorney’s office.

“She is better than anything I could’ve ever imagined. She is so sweet and amazing. I’m so happy,” said Deprill.

Deprill got it cracking by posting a pic of herself holding a sign that read “Looking for my birth mother. … She abandoned me in the Burger King bathroom only hours old, Allentown PA. Please help me find her by sharing my post.”

After more than 30,000 shares around the world, everyone started calling Deprill the ‘Burger King’ baby.  It eventually caught the attention of her birth mother, who was harboring enormous guilt.  She’d always wondered about her daughter.  Her excuse for the abandonment?  She was raped at 16 during a family vacation.  She hid the pregnancy from her family.  She secretly gave birth in her bedroom, and then dropped the baby off at BK.
