Jay Z and Kanye West are not beefing over some Tidal/Apple drama. Jay- Z has always been an opportunist. Jigga wasn’t interested in doing the joint album, Watch the Throne, until after My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, was labeled a Hip-Hop classic. Jay used Ye’s respect and limelight to resuscitate his own rap career.
Ye told the crowd at his Seattle Saint Pablo tour, “Our kids have never even played together” — referring to North West and Blue Ivy.
Kanye, is pissed because Jigga blocked the rumored joint album between him and Drake.
“Y’all ain’t get what y’all was suppose to get with me and Drake because of some Tidal/Apple [Music] bulls–t,” West said. “This s–t got me tight, yo! Every time I perform [‘N—– in Paris’], I think about this s–t. I think about the politics and the bulls–t. I think about how hard I go for music, for art, for y’all, the fans. How hard we go.”
West also claims the Tidal/Apple issue is the reason Jay Z didn’t want his verse included on Drake’s “Pop Style.” Jay didn’t want to offend Weak Mill. He needed Meeks’ husband, Nicki Minaj, to remain on the Tidal board.
“It went into some Tidal/Apple political s–t about percentage on songs,” West said. “I can’t take this s–t, bro! Our kids have never even played together.”
Kanye said Jay called him after Kim Kardashian’s fake Paris robbery, but he felt Jay should have visited him in person “like brothers.”
Jay Z and Beyonce became fast friends with Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow AFTER Ye mentioned reaching out to Martin for a collab. Kanye hired India Westbrooks to promote his Yeezy season 3 fashion show. A few weeks later, India Love was at Roc Nation corporate offices for an interview and photo shoot. Beyonce and Jay didn’t come to Kimye’s wedding either. Does Jay Z really FW Kanye West? Or, is he keeping him around to steal all of his ideas? Keep in mind, Tidal was plummeting before West began promoting it on social media…
